Sculpting & Tooling Clays

Clays for Sculpting and Tooling are oil based or water based. Oil based clays are non-toxic, odorless, non-drying, resuable modeling materials that remain indefinitely pliable. These clays are used for creating molds, prototypes, and detailed sculptures from which durable molds can be made for casting other materials such as platinum silicones and epoxies where cure inhibition is a problem. 

Water based clays are versatile and  ideal for developing a tactile connection with them to create fine details. They are perfect for creating mock-ups, models, and prototypes in design, entertainment and artistic applications. These clays are malleable when fresh but dry out and shrink as they dry. Water based clays are ideal for beginners due to their price point and tactile qualities which allow for detail work and help to develop sculpting and tooling skills. WED clays are designed to dry more slowly and achieve smooth finishes. Tooling with water based clays requires misting with water to keep the clays moist.
